I purchased a Surface Pro 8 with the following specifications: Microsoft Surface Pro 8-13" Touchscreen - Intel Evo Platform Core i5-8GB Memory - 256GB SSD - Device Only - Platinum. The unit I received does not identify the computer as Intel Evo. Not in the box and not in the laptop unit. This is what appears on the System → About screen. 5777 posts · Joined 2009. #16 · Oct 28, 2012. Evo VIII/IX front rotor is smaller, caliper is same. I'm not sure about the rear rotors, but the Evo VIII/IX caliper is smaller. Evo VIII front pads will fit in Evo X calipers, but the rears are smaller pads and need an adapter to fit. Also, the Evo X front caliper bolts are bigger I believe. As for the Core i7, the 13650HX is almost identical to the i5-13600HX with only minor differences in boost clock speeds and graphics. Based on your original post of dabbling in EAA, I don’t think the Edge is necessary. Most EAA use wouldn’t appreciate the more corrected optics unless one is using larger sensor cameras and is more into traditional AP. Evo 8 internals are stronger but I wouldn't run a standard lump more than 400 / 400 anyway. Fuel tank is smaller in the vii but you will be forever filling it up anyway no matter which you choose. The extra price was worth it for such a nice example, though, and it has given me almost zero problems. I had the IACV go wonky at about 60k, and that was the only repair it has needed. Some stuff to consider about evo x vs. 8/9: Responsiveness. The x feels much heavier to drive. The 8 is very pItZ.
